Peppers & Chilli Growing Tips, the easy way to grow your own peppers and chilli

Sow from seed or buy as a plant, if sowing from seed then use a heated propagator with ideal temps of 21-27C/70-75F or indoors on a windowsill. Place a bag or humidity dome over the pot and remove when the seedlings have broken through. Once the seedlings are big enough to be handled they should be pricked out and placed into small individual pots. Temps should be 16-19C/60-65F plants should be pinched out at around 8inches tall to help enocourage and promote bushy growth and then hardened off.

Place plants in a unheated greenhouse during late spring or outdoors in a sunny but wind sheltered area during early summer. Water plants sparingly at first using general prupose fertilizer until flowering then switch to liquid tomato feed when flowers form. Support the plants during growth and harvest early for green or leave them to ripen off for red.
